With just five days to go until the start of the trade deadline, the National Football League has announced it will hold off on the start and finish of the playoffs for all teams except the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants.
The league announced it was postponing its trade deadline on Wednesday, and also will have no trade deadline games on Thursday, Dec. 2, according to a league source.
The deadline is Jan. 1.
The move is the latest in a series of moves by the NFL to ease some of the pressure on the league to produce its biggest games.
Last week, the league announced that the trade period would start on Thursday and that teams would have until midnight on Dec. 8 to move their games.
